Long before Touchstone Energy decided on the motto “the power of human connections,” the employees and directors of Oklahoma’s Electric Cooperatives knew the true meaning of this phrase and demonstrated it by volunteering at the Special Olympics Summer State Games each May. Co-op volunteers have worked at these games for the last 23 years and were especially pleased to participate this year as the Games celebrated their 39 th anniversary in Stillwater May 7-9, 2008 More than 120 volunteers from co-ops across the state – from Hooker to Idabel and from Vinita to Sayre and Marietta – came for the three days and braved some very cold, wet weather in order to honor and assist the athletes who had come to compete in the Games. |
