Lead Staking Technician
East Central Oklahoma Electric Cooperative is currently recruiting for a Lead Staking Technician for our organization. The successful candidate will plan and coordinate the cooperatives staking activities, direct all staking technicians, disseminate work assignments as well as perform staking duties as a working lead.
Prefer graduate of two (2) year technical degree or certification from an acceptable technical school or two (2) years of college in related fields or a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the electric utility field, with a strong emphasis on Electric Utility Distribution Design.
Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in design and construction of electric distribution systems. Must have functioned successfully, for two (2) years, as a fully qualified Staking Technician with distribution design experience.
Must have an understanding and provide interpretation of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and have a working knowledge of RUS approved list of materials. Must know basic electrical principles and RUS Construction Standards. Must be able to design any necessary overhead and underground distribution system , and have understanding of construction procedures. Must know and administer Cooperative policies, rules, and regulations.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Highly dependable and self-starting. Must be able to lead and train all staking technicians, plan effectively, make work, manpower and equipment assignments which are tailored to complete the work assignments. Must be able to communicate with the public and employees. Must be able to function alone, drive alone, walk across all types of terrain while carrying necessary equipment to perform surveying and staking functions alone. Must be able to remove and replace a 35 pound tire to allow replacement of flat tires in the field. Must be able to perform maintenance checks on vehicle assigned. Must read and check maps, plats, staking sheets, legal descriptions for accuracy. Must be able to coordinate, direct and train other Staking, Engineering and Mapping personnel.
