ECE residential members' power restored
JANUARY 26, 2007 - Disaster recovery winds down as all of East Central Electric's residential members should be back on by the end of the business day today.

Restoration began after a devastating ice storm hit Oklahoma during the weekend of Jan. 13 and interrupted power to over 14,000 members. Trees and poles began collapsing from the weight of the ice accumulation for numerous utilities across the state. Over 350 additional crew members answered the call to aid a fellow cooperative. Crews from Louisiana, West Virginia, Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma cooperatives spent two weeks here during the restoration effort.
