The best way to control energy use is to be aware of how much energy you use each month and how it is being consumed in your home and on the farm. This involves learning how to read your meter, keeping track of the energy use, and using your meter as a tool to locate problems. In this way, you can budget your energy use just like you budget for groceries and other household items.
Oklahoma's electric cooperatives have partnered with Oklahoma State University to develop a comprehensive online energy audit for the home. This free tool is now available for use by East Central Electric Cooperative Members.
