Residential Construction

ATTENTION: Please be advised that depending on your location and the type of service required, it can take several weeks to complete the construction and connection of electrical service. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with you to make this process as smooth as possible.

To connect power to a non-permanent or low usage structure (RVs, barns, shops), you will need:

  • To decide on standard monthly or prepay billing

  • To have a copy of your warranty deed available to attach to the membership application.

  • Note: The Cooperative will contribute up to $250 to extend service to serve non-permanent and low usage installations. Any additional costs of construction will be paid by the consumer in advance.

To connect power to a permanent residence that is under construction, you will need:

  • To decide on standard monthly or prepay billing

  • To have a copy of your warranty deed available to attach to the membership application.

  • Note: The Cooperative will contribute up to $3,000 to extend service to a permanent residential consumer granted that septic/sewer, running water, and a permanent foundation are currently on site. Any additional costs of construction will be paid by the Consumer in advance.

Additional documentation that may be required:

To start the process, you will need to:

  • Call East Central at 918-756-0833 and talk with one of our helpful customer service representatives about your new construction. Our representatives will walk you through the application process, set up your account, discuss any fees associated with the account, and get your information to a field representative who will contact you for next steps. A field representative should contact you within three business days of the initial call.

  • Our field representative will arrange to meet with you at the service location to determine the meter location, line route, service capacity, and other construction details. Please have your site plan and electrical load requirements with you at this meeting. The representative will also provide you with easement forms, membership documents, and other information that must be completed before construction can begin.

  • Please return all payments, forms, easements, permits, and other documents as requested by East Central. After the field representative has completed the construction drawings and received your documents, your new service will be scheduled for construction.

Note: Connecting power to new construction, including mobile homes, can take six to eight weeks to complete.

If you have any questions or concerns throughout this process, please give us a call at 918-756-0833.
